Why do (some) people hate math?
I think people hate math for a couple of reasons, they could hate it because they don't understand it, or because they've never had a good teacher. Teachers need to advertise their teaching ways so it appeals to all kinds of learners. I know some people are very visual learners, so if a teacher just explains something in words they'll never understand it. They need pictures to explain things more in depth.
Do you like or hate math and why?
To be honest, I've always had fantastic math teachers but I'm still not a huge fan of it. I think math is very difficult for me since I'm more of a "creative" thinker. Since I'm a creative thinker I don't see things in black in white, I need explantion for what I'm doing. Math doesn't really do that for me.
Do you think math is important for "artists?"
In some aspects math is important to artists because musicians have to know how to count the rythm depending on the time signature. Dancers need to know perspective and what will look good, different angles they can position their body in and how the body will move.
How can math education improve?
I think the only way to improve math education is to get better teachers, not the out dated teachers that teach math the old fashioned way. We, as students, need teachers that teach it in a fun
motivational way that make kids want to learn math and not be so bored with it.
